Full Description
Site of Smelting House, The Hagg. There is much strewn slag and vitrified rock within the general area which suggests the smelting house known to be in use in the Ashton & Co. period is close by. Other references mention smelting in Windmill Wood (1).
The windmill which was alleged to be used for crushing lead ore was adjacent to this area (2)(3).
