Full Description
This is a later haulage adit for ore from Wood Mine and possibly a drainage adit. Its position today is marked by small spring from the base of an old spoil mound (1).
Nigel Dibben disagrees. He believes that all haulage from Wood Mine was via either the current adit entrance or the branch from the Hough Level. The latter broke surface near the treatment works where a steam engine was installed to drag trucks up the last section. (2).
