Full Description
A small medium sized Quarry is also located near to the old Edge House. The quarry may be 18th century or later (and it was certainly in existence in 1872) and has evidence of pick and stemple holes for wooden staging and some herring-bone pickwork. A platform directly in front of this is probably made of levelled quarry spoil. At the north end there is evidence for a complex of notches and niches between two rock faces, plus a hollow which was possibly used as a fireplace and therefore this could possibly be a site of a small wooden building. The quarry's shallow cliff out crop is located directly above Abadine's Smelter (1).
