Full Description
Roodeye Cross; traditionally believed to be of Saxon origin, but more probably a boundary cross put up to mark the extent of the land on that side belonging to St. Mary's Nunnery. It was mentioned in 1540. The cross was at one time removed and after lying beneath the walls for many years was re-erected in its original position in 1855 (1).
Base and shaft of a stone cross of 13th century date. Comprising a low eroded, rectangular sandstone base stone, just above ground level, and a damaged square shaft (2).
