Summary
Part of the roman road, Watling Street that links Chester with Wroxeter, and Caerleon. The Agger (roman road embankment) runs SE across fields and is clearly marked by oak trees and a depression on its west side and by a hedge and oaks on its east side . The route of the Watling Street can be followed from Chester to its crossing point of the Dee at Aldford and then onto Malpas wherer it disappears from the landscape.

Full Description
Watling Street SJ 42735756 to 42855729. Agger runs SE across fields and is clearly marked by oak trees and a depression on its west side and by a hedge and oaks on its east side (1). For air photos, see SRW Churton-by-Aldford 1 & 6 (2).
