Full Description
Late Saxon cast bronze stirrup mount with a face crudely indicated with relief knobs representing the eyes and nose. Traces of a whiskery moustache/beard are just visible. Three rivet holes (1 top, 2 bottom) are present. Two are blocked by iron corrosion. A class A mount 42mm long x 26mm wide x 6mm thick (1).

Location description: Field immediately to the south of Harbutt's Field which is the site of a Roman fort. Now built over by housing development.
