Monument record 2016/1/4 - Fields to the South of Shotwicklodge Farm

Vertical aerial photographs dating from 1947 show several fields to the south of Shotwicklodge Farm as retaining reverse-S ridge and furrow.

Davey reports broad ridges still being visible in three fields. The presence of medieval ridge and furrow implies that parts of the park may have been farmed at this period.

There are very faint traces of the earthworks described in the sources above in this area, but it would appear that these earthworks have been significantly reduced.
