Full Description
Roman trumpet brooch. Moulding below the crest of the bow takes the form of a narrow central button between opposed cusps of acanthus leaves - with a single cross-moulding on either side of this ornament. A promient double -collared moulding encircles the head, which contains the remains of the spring. Catch-plate and pin missing. L4.6cm W 1.6cm. Second half 1st century to first half second century. Found by metal detector (1).
