Full Description
Large bronze bow brooch with buffer-ended lateral lugs at head, with axial bar still in place. Dorsal decoration along bow consists of 8 inlaid yellow enamel cells: space for missing enamel cells between (contrasting colour in softer paste?). Solid catch-plate; pin missing. 'Polden hill' brooch form. Found by metal detector. 1st century AD. (1)
Large bronze 'Polden Hill' type bow brooch with buffer-ended lateral lugs at head. Axial bar in place. Dorsal decoration along bow consists of eight inlaid yellow enamel cells with space for missing enamel cells in between (contrasting colour in softer paste?). Catch plate intact. Pin missing.
