<1> Chronicle Group, 1893-2009, Congleton Chronicle, 21/09/1956 (Newspaper-Magazine). SCH972.
Hoard of 18 gold coins found September 1956 during construction work on timber framed cottages opposite Moody Hall (8-12 Moody Hall). Hoard consisted of 7 Laurels of James I and 11 unites of Charles I, all having original denominational value of 20s. Inquest held and coins held by the Grosvenor Museum.
