Summary

Bronze terret ring. Undecorated apart from a narrow raised ridge running around the entire outer face of the hoop. Simple buffer terminals. Very similar terrets have been published from the Iron Age sites at Hagbourne Hill (Berks) and Glastonbury. Terret rings are parts of horse harnesses designed for reins to pass through to allow contol of one or more horses, particularly on chariots or carts.

Full Description

Bronze terret ring. Max width 5.2cm. Undecorated apart froma narrow raised ridge running around the entire outer face of the hoop. Simple buffer terminals. Very similar terrets have been published from the Iron Age sites at Hagbourne Hill (Berks) and Glastonbury (1).
