Summary
Bronze fibula fragment of a bow brooch of the Polden Hill type (i.e. with a wide cross piece). Appears to have had a hinged pin, rather than a spring pin which is more usual with this pattern. Dates from the late 1st/early 2nd century.

Full Description
Bronze fibula fragment of a bow brooch of the Polden Hill type (i.e. with a wide cross piece). Appears to have had a hinged pin, rather than a spring pin which is more usual with this pattern. Simple linear dorsal decoration:buffer terminals to cross pieces. Late 1st/early 2nd century. Surviving length 3.1cm, width 2.8cm. Discovered by metal detector (1).
