Full Description
<1> National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside, 1993, Greater Manchester Western & Northern Relief Road - M56-M62 Archaeological Assessment Report, R2033/110 (Client Report). SCH1269.
A circular cropmark, visible on aerial photographs,which may in fact be a slight earthwork in pasture. To the North of it is an area of linear, rectangular and oval cropmarks which may relate to the clearance of woodland formerly on the site. Some of this is post-dated by disturbance associated with some form of quarrying.
(NB:NGR is based on Map3 in the report, not NGR given in gazetteer which is outside the study area.)
