Prehistoric flint dagger found in a potato field and given to Liverpool Museum in 1965. Made from reddy-orange flint it is probably of local origin. The dagger is of exceptional importance for its fine workmanship and rarity in Western Britain.

Full Description

Prehistoric flint dagger. Found in a potato field NE of Oven Back by a pupil of Golborne Secondary School.Given by the school to Liverpool Museum in 1965. Length-175mm; breadth-54mm; thickness- 10mm; weight-101gm (1). Made from reddy-orange flint, probably of local origin. Dagger is of exceptional importance for its fine workmanship and rarity in western Britain (2).
