Full Description
Arbury Farm, Arbury Lane, Winwick.The Manor of Arbury was held in 1212 by the Lord of Lawton, its rating being half a ploughland. It was granted to Geoffrey Gernet, who enfeoffed Thurston Banastre. He gave half of the manor to Cockersand Abbey in alms.The rest of the manor later came into the possession of the Southworth family and descended exactly like Southworth (1). Present building is 1641, altered and extended in 18th and early 29th century. Brick with sandstone quoins and stone-slate roof covered in felt (2). Full architectural description (2) and (3).
