Full Description
Finds from Bridge Street, Warrington, discovered during excavations for building foundations. 16th century bronze tap, the handle in the form of a cock & the mouth of the pipe in the form of a dolphin's head & part of an early 17th century two-handled vessel, a 'wassail cup' of thin earthenware covered with a deep brown glaze & decorated with bunches of grapes in white slip. Exhibited at a meeting of the British Archaeological Association in Nov 1860 by Dr Kendrick.
