Full Description

A Pebble-Hammer, with hour glass perforation, found at Millcliffe, Appleton (1). Pebble-hammer made from a fine grey grit and is ovoid in shape, measuring 3.3/8 ins x 2.15/16 ins x 1.1/2 ins. The hour glass perforation measures 3/ 4 ins x 5/6 ins. The implement was donated by Lt Col B Fairclough in 1921. No preuse siting information (2). Ref 3 gives grid ref SJ 615 848 (3).
