Full Description

Rixton Old Hall built 1822. Brown brick with slate roof, 2 storey, 6 bays, including 3 window 2 storey octagonal bay and east and west wings. Six panel entrance door with winged fanlight and terra cotta label. Main roof ridge part sandstone, part lead and part tile. Now used as offices (1). Hall was rebuilt c.1822 (and presumably relocated further south) and contained a domestic chapel (2). Rixton Old Hall situated to the south of the moat and the former medieval house. The moat is now incorporated into the Hall's ornamental gardens (3).
