Summary

A timber-framed farmhouse with brick nogging, daring to around 1642. Demolished in 1964. There are many Medieval references to the Middlehurst family after which this house was named.

Full Description

Lands called Middlehurst occur before the end of the 13th century & the 'black & white' house on the south side of the Knutsford Road is called Middlehurst.There are many Medieval references to the family of that name (1). Timber-framed farmhouse, brick nogged, 2 storeys, dated c.1642.Grade II (2). By 1960 - house unoccupied, though in reasonable state of repair.Only the east wing is timber framed, the rest of the building is 18th & 19th century brick construction.The infilling between the timber work is of original plaster & lath & is stucco covered.By 1964 the house had been demolished (3).
