Full Description
Quarrying recorded at Eddisbury hillfort in the post medieval period. Map evidence suggest numerous quarry sites around the southern edges of the hillfort pre-dating the early 19th century while a large 'old quarry' is also recorded in the centre of the hillfort on mid 19th century maps of the area produced by the Ordnance Survey. It is suggested that they may be medieval in origin. (1)
