Full Description
During the course of the excavation of the Roman Villa, a medieval pottery kiln and waste dumps were located. Not only was this material above the villa, but field walking and chance finds have shown that the material extends across the rest of the field east of the exposed villa remains (1). Thin section pottery analysis of selected sherds has been undertaken by A Vince, Museum of London, for the Grosvenor Museum (2).
