Summary
Archaeological Investigation has revealed a cambered agger (roman road embankment) with a metalled surface on hard packed red clay. There is a shallow side ditch and bank on one side.

Full Description
Test trench revealed cambered agger with metalling on hard packed red clay. South slope with sparse scattering of stones with step down to ditch. Side ditch shallow but with blackish clay silt fill. Bank outside of ditch consisting of top-soil and red clay abuts field. No ditch to North. Width of stones 8 m. (1).
