Full Description
Kinderton Lodge. Ormerod says the house was built by Lord Norreys after the old Kinderton Hall was pulled down, perhaps at the beginning of the 18th C (RN: 753/ 1/ 1). The Lodge was said to have been a large quadrangular building of timber & plaster & the upper storey is said to have been decorated with imaginary portraits of the long series of barons of Kinderton, painted around the exterior of the building. This lodge was pulled down c.20yrs ago (ie. c. 1862) (1) & (2). Present house is early 18th century with 19th century alterations (3).
