Full Description
Fragment of a nodule of mottled grey flint with cortex adhering to approx 20% of its surface. Retouch at two edges indicates this fragment had been utilised as a tool. One corner had functioned as a scraper - this edge is affected by a flaw in the flint which led to it becoming damaged during use. Flint used is not native to Cheshire and must have been traded into the area.(2) Found during fieldwalking on the Aston Estate.(1) c 44mm x 50 mm max. Photo in SMR.
