Please read our .

Summary

Railway cutting on the Over and Wharton Railway. Railway cuttings are artificial "valleys" dug through hills to allow the railways to be laid level. The Winsford and Over Railway, opened in 1870 and was later taken over by the Cheshire Lines Committee. It had closed by 1930 and all the track was then removed. The only trace are the embankments, cuttings and footpath along the original route.
