Summary

Documentary evidence records the granting of land in Handbridge from Richard, son of Alfred to the Priory of Chester in the 12th century. There is subsequently a reference to a vacant and ruinous building belonging to the piriory in Kettle’s Croft (Later Edgar's Field) west of the Dee Bridge. Although never recorded as such, it is believed to have been a chapel of St Mary’s Priory.

Documentary evidence records the granting of land in Handbridge from Richard, son of Alfred to the Priory of Chester in the 12th century. (1)

There is subsequently a reference to a vacant and ruinous building belonging to the piriory in Kettle’s Croft (later Edgar's Field) west of the Dee Bridge. Although never recorded as such, it is believed to have been a chapel of St Mary’s Priory. (1)
