Full Description
The building has a pre-1910 (2) date as it ts present on the Ordnance Survey map of that date but not on the OS map of 1872. (1) The 1872 map does illustrate the existence of signalling points to allow the transfer of trains between the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway (3) and a small set of sidings. However by 1910 the volume of sidings have been significantly enlarged and resulted in a signal box replacing the points. By 1973 the signal box no longer survives. (4)
