Summary

Presumably built by or around 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. (It is shown on the First Edition 1:2500 Ordnance Survey map (1872).There also existed a signal box to allow the interchange of traffic to a group of sidings at the station, although it is unclear whether the sidings served a goods shed. The Cheshire Lines Committee was set up in 1865 and was responsible for the creation a series of railway routes linking the west of the county around Stockport and Knutsford to Northwich and Chester.

Presumably built by or around 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. (1) & (2) Present on the First Edition 1:2500 Ordnance Survey map. (3) There also existed a signal box to allow the interchange of traffic to a group of sidings at the station, although it is unclear whether the sidings served a goods shed.
