Summary

Site of a signal box, presumably built by 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. It is shown on the 1910 Ordnance Survey map of Cheshire but is not on a 1973 Ordnance Survey map, having been destroyed. The Cheshire Lines Committee was set up in 1865 and was responsible for the creation a series of railway routes linking the west of the county around Stockport and Knutsford to Northwich and Chester.

Full Description

Presumably built by 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. (1) Present on the 1910 Ordnance Survey map (2), it served as an access mechanism for entry and exit to the accompanying goods shed and sidings. Along with the shed and sidings, it no longer existed on a 1973 Ordnance Survey map. (3)
