Summary

19th century Railway Signal Box presumably built around 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. Shown on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map and also the 1970 Ordnance Survey map. The Cheshire Lines Committee was set up in 1865 and was responsible for the creation a series of railway routes linking the west of the county around Stockport and Knutsford to Northwich and Chester.

Full Description

Presumably built by 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. (1) Present on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map (2) it served as an access mechanism for entry and exit to the accompanying goods shed and sidings. Along with the sidings, but not the goods shed, it still exists on the 1970 Ordnance Survey map. (3)
