Full Description
Presumably built by 1869 to serve the Cheshire Lines Committee's Northwich - Chester Railway. (1) Present on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map. (2) Does not appear to serve many houses although the village of Hatchmere is a little further north. An aqueduct carrying water from the Vyrnwy Reservoir passes over the railway immediately east of Delamere Station, and this could have been used as a convenient means of getting to the aqueduct for inspection or maintenance. Their also exists a goods shed and office, along with the compulsory signal box, at the stop. The station still exists at the stop in 1970. (3)
