Full Description
Clematis Cottage, Helsby Road. Partly early 17th century and partly 1693 altered and extended. Of painted, coursed rubble sandstone, grey slate roof. T-shaped, the cross-wing is of two rooms and is early 17th century, altered late 17th century. Cyma band at first floor. Datestone on cross- wing inscribed lE : I : 1693. Interior: a baffle-entrance plan, altered mid 20th century. Inglenook in front room has inscription Kl : 1620; large cambered oak bressumer. Late 17th century sandstone fireplace in rear room with cyma overmantel and chamfered oak beam in front room (1). Full architctural description (1) and (2).
