Find Spot record 1004 - Socketed Bronze Axe Found in Helsby

A socketed bronze axe (illustrated) found at Helsby in 1935 and purchased for the Grosvenor Museum in 1958. There are three parallel ribs on the faces and jammed in the socket is a bronze plug with a curved bronze plate between it and the inner face of the axe.

The finder could not provide a precise location for the find.
