Full Description
Aston Lower Mill. This mill was destroyed by Repton during the landscaping of the park of Aston Hall in 1793 (RN:934/1), when it was made into a cascade feature. Excavations in 1985-86 by H.Talbot & Frodsham Local History Group revealed the brick & masonry construction of the mill & the wheel pit. There was evidence of a timber mill building below. There was also a clay dam to provide the pool, which is now breached (1).
