Full Description
The watermill at Helsby can be traced as far back as the end of the 13th century. It appears to have been built before 31 Edward I by William, the last lord of Hellesby & one of the Frodesham family upon Lewlyns (LLewellyns) brook, which divided Helesby from Frodsham. In the time of James I mill passed by sale to the Savages of Rock Savage. Attached to the present (1882) watermill, is also a windmill, but neither of them have been worked for the past few years (1).
