Full Description
A late seventeenth century cottage constructed of sandstone and brick. The roof is of corrugated iron and thatch. The cottage is two stories high, with the second storey in the roof space. The windows have iron lattice work. Inside there are two seventeenth century cupboards either side of the brick chimney. A winder stair is behind the cupboard (there were 2 stairs, but the one in the left-hand room has been removed). There are chamfered oak beams; sawn oak joists; oak-framed partition wall visible in bedrooms. An oak truss indicates a formerly very steep roof-pitch (1).
