Site of a Norman castle is indicated by the name Castle Hill, between Shipbrook Bridge & Shipbrook Hill Farm. The remains are said to have actually existed on this spot c.1789 & to have been cleared away…

No trace of castle. Shipbrook Hill Farm is on a river escarpment & there is no high ground between there & the bridge
