A minor roman road route researched by Mr Kirk in 1885, described by Thomson Watkin. Begins at a field west of Crabtree Green lane, probably found to cross the River Weaver at Saltersford and to have continued until it met with the Roman road from Northwich to Warrington. Mr Kirk says that the line of the road points a little to the W of Weaverham Church tower. No details of actual physical remains being found in this account

<4> Bebbington, Charles E, 1939, The Parish Church of Weaverham and its Registers, p.212-213 (Article in Journal). SCH8559.

Reference to two branches of Watling street passing throught the churchyard. When the church was being restored in 1876, a Roman Causeway was found cutting diagonally across the present chancel. A drawing of the plan of Weaverham church marks the line of the road. Author also references a Roman Road found 39 yards east of the church, a paper about which was given to the society in 1929.
