Monument record 873/1/6 - Summerhouse Bank

Please read our .

Summary

A circular depression surrounded by a sub-circular mound near the summit of Summerhouse bank. It has been suggested that it may be a Bronze Age barrow, but the placename suggests that it may have been the site of a folly or eyecatcher, possibly associated with Utkinton Hall. Potentially, the folly may have been constructed on a pre-existing barrow.
