Full Description
<1> Cheshire County Council, 1974, County Treasures Record, 4/A.202 (Index). SCH1000.
Site of a fourteenth century chapel at Kingsley. The site may be covered by the present church, which dates to the nineteenth century.
<2> Various, Various, Oral communication to the HER, Edwards R, 25/11/2019 (Oral Communication). SCH2330.
There appears to be no evidence to support this hypothesis. The reference to a capella de Kingsley dates from 1371 from a seventeenth century copy of an earlier manuscript which forms part of the Leicester-Warren Family collection (see 3). Ormerod also briefly mentions this source (see 4), but no location is inferred. It is possible that this chapel is the chapel at Catenhall (see CHER: 950/4).
