Summary

Crewood Hall is Grade II* listed. It is a late 16th /early 17th century farmhouse. It is built of stone-dressed brown brick, with some oak framing and tiled roofs. There is a cross-wing at each end. The lintel has a badly weathered inscription which is dated to 1623. There is a great sandstone open fireplace in a room to the right of porch which was probably formerly the Great Hall.

Full Description

Crewood Hall, Crewood Hall Lane. Hall Farmhouse. Late 16th and early 17th century, with probably earlier internal features, altered and extended late 19th century. Stone-dressed brown brick, some oak framing, tiled roofs. Cross-wing at each end. Two storey porch. Inscribed lintel has badly weathered inscription (1623 and coat of arms). Interior: Great sandstone open fireplace in room to right of porch, probably formerly the great hall, massive oak posts in lefthand corner of chimney breast. Front bedrooms have large framed partition walls and oak beams. Roof structure now ceiled, has cambered beams to trusses over hall and simple trusses over right cross-wing.
