Full Description
Metal detecting finds from the vicinity of Dutton Hall Farm, Group includes a shilling of James I, hammered, some damage, found at 3ins depth (1); a silver penny of Edward III, York mint, very worn; from a field within the boundary of the Elizabethan orchard/garden, a medieval French jetton, 2.6cm in diameter; from the grazing area at the side of Old Hall, an eliptical iron ring, 10.5cm in diameter, strap loops, possible support ring for a wooden shoe. Also pot sherds and 17th century pipe bowls (2). Also a lead spindle whorl, 3.2cm in diamter; and a hmmmered silver threepence of Elizabeth I, in poor condition (3).
