<1> Roeder, C, 1951, Prehistoric Glimpses of Eddisbury Hundred (Cheshire), p.115 (Article in Journal). SCH7313.
In 1896 five wedge-shaped stone hammers were found at the foot of Eddisbury Hill. One is of drab clay-slate, splintered at the apex and base, three and a quarter inches in length, and two inches across the centre, and weighs eight ounces; its surface is smoothed.
