Summary

A looped, socketed bronze axe was found at Croxton Hall, Byley. Socketed axes were cast around a clay core to give a hollow centre. They often have loops so they could be tied to the handle.

Full Description

A looped, socketed bronze axe was found at Croxton Hall, Byley. 3 short ribs pendant from a bar (1). Socket damaged (2).
