Full Description

A circular hammerstone with a depression worked in each face, presumably of Bronze Age date, was found in a field near Townfield Lane, Frodsham in November 1956. It is now in the possession of Mr Raymond Hayes, of 26 Townfield Lane. It has been petrologically identified by Mr Coope of Birmingham University as greywacke, though not of Group XV (1).
