Full Description
Ring O'Bells Inn, Bellemonte Road, Overton. Probably 17th century, altered. Pebbledash, graded grey slate roof. Interior: low ceilings, some beams, altered inglenook. Full architectural description (1). Formerly the land was part of the manor of Frodsham and was bought from the crown in the early 17th century by Sir Thomas Savage. The building was known as Hough's Cottage, after the tenant who lived there. The building was first referred to as a public house in a document of 1768, and was first called The Ring O'Bells in the will of William Hayes in 1830 (2).
