Summary
Remains of a Roman brooch. It has a bronze bow with an iron head to take the spring and pin. The spring and pin are missing and the end of the shaft is decayed. It has been identified as a Polden Hill type which dates between to the 1st century AD.

Full Description
Roman Fibula. About two-thirds of a bronze Roman Fibula with an iron head to take the spring and pin. These are missing as is one boss and the end of the shaft is decayed. Polden Hill type AD50-100. Commonly found in military contexts, but rarer in civilian or rural situations (1).
