Full Description
No.7 Bollington Road (Orchard House). Formerly farmhouse, now house. Later C17 with early C20 alterations to the facade. Buff sandstone with red sandstone dressings, Welsh slate roof and two brick gable chimneys. 2.5 storey. Three-bay front. End bays have two-storey canted bay windows with tall ovolo-moulded stone mullions, supporting balonies to ovolo- moulded dormers with stone-coped gables. To rear and sides, mixture of C17 tall two and three-light chamfered stone mullions. Interior: Internal walls rubble stone. Later C17 turned baluster staircase. Six panelled doors upstairs, two panelled doors downstairs. Chamfered ceiling beams. Massive ridge and purlins rest on internal stone walls. Full architectural description (1).
