Full Description
The earlier farmbuilding at Tytherington Old Hall formed an L-shaped group to the north of the hall. The north-west arm contained a five-bay cruck corn barn, with stone walls and containing four pairs of full crucks set within the stone wall. This barn had been damaged by fire and the stone- slate roof removed. May have been late medieval/early post medieval in date. The north-east arm consisted of a C17 three-bay stone barn, later added to a shippon. The L-shape was completed by later buildings. All have been demolished to build housing (1).
