Full Description

Boothbank Farmhouse, Reddy Lane. c.1670. Brick with stone slate and slate roof, but originally thatch with stone dressings. Baffle-entry plan. Entrance front: three bays with original 17th century ovolo-moulded door surround. Band of two bricks depth between floors. Stone dressings to gable. Interior: large cambered bressumer to parlour fireplace, ovolo moulded ceiling beams to parlour and other 17th century ground floor rooms and chamfered beams to 17th century first floor rooms. According to a commemorative stone, once in a Chapel to the North but now in the motorway bridge, John Wesley preached in this farmhouse in 1747 (3)

Tithe map for Millington c.1848.Plot no. 180 shows a group of buildings. The plot name is House, Building and orchard. The owner is Earl of Stamford and the occupier is Thomas Davies.
